Outdoor Nature Poem is about My Church in the Woods
68MY CHURCH OF THE WOODS
Walking into a Forest Alone
Footsteps Softened by Nature's Carpet
Moss Cushioning the Earth
Towering Cathedral of Trees
Where Twigs Snap
And Leaves Rustle
Muir Woods / California
Beetles and Berries
Vines Intertwine
And Violets Surprise
Ferns and Fungi
Sweet Earthy Smells Permeating the Air
Where Squirrels are Chattering
And Chipmunks are Scattering
Symphonic Notes
Orchestrated by Frogs
Crickets
And Grasshoppers
Join Sweet Melodies of Birds
Singing Solo
Occasionally Providing a Forested Choir of Songs
Pleasant to the Ears
A Sudden Fluttering of Wings
As Avian Pilots Skim the Air
Shafts of Sunlight
Slicing through the Foliage
Illuminating their Colorful Vestments
Wooded Pathways
Teaming with Life
Fireflies Flickering their Lights
Being Watched by Unseen Eyes
Mesmerized by Fantasies of Fairies
Dancing around Night-Time Bonfires
With Wood Nymphs
And Toadstools
Feeling Small
Feeling Happy
Feeling Solitude
Feeling Peace
Alone and Yet...
One with the Universe

What an appropriate title to describe the spiritual connection to man, nature and God. Thank you for sharing!
Yes ma'am Peggy. We need to hold a prayer meeting in there! God bless you dear Peggy.
Nature can definitely provide a religious experience if one is attentive enough. Very colorful and fragrant description given here of your sacred place. Thank you.
i love this poem and it is lovely, I prefer the woods to teh "big city"
nice poem , loved it
A walk in the woods is a great way to clear your mind and remind you that this couldn't be this perfect without someone overseeing it! I get the same feeling when I am in the ocean or watching the ocean.
Wow, this was beautiful! I felt like I was actually in the woods. You are a very vivid and descriptive writer.
my my my - after reading this I just want to lay down over there and dream ....... I am relaxed and very mellow!
This is such a beautiful poem and it has a lovely spiritual dimension to it, the forest is alive and full of life everywhere. You catch so many details, I love the texture, so rich.....
I am a poet and you write the poetry I love, tying nature and the human spirit together. Have to be a fan now! :)
No wonder the mantis is praying....the cathedral of trees
is a sanctuary where only paper plates are passed, and day dreams are collected. The deacons are the aquirrels gathering the nuts in to worship, and the pews are horizontal logs where one can pause and just breathe in the glory of communion. Lovely write~~~~MFB III

What a wonderful poem!
It is a beautiful thing to be able to feel the Presence of God within the beauty of His handiwork in all the natural wonders He has created.
Thank You
Blessings
Lovely hub :) thanks a lot Peggy ...
Beautifully written!
I can tell you love nature a lot. That's great. I'm from the heart of Africa, we get a lot of nature here. Good poem.
I once travelled alone for three days just to be alone in nature! Who doesn't love it? To be amidst wonderful nature and creatures, to nap under a tree, to walk in the woods alone while writing a poem! Unbelievable.
Such a marvellous naturalistic poem! God can be discerned thru His creations and thru His majestic craftiness... Thanks dear...
Beautifully spoken. I too have been to Muir Woods in California and it is not just a church in the woods but a magnificent cathedral and truly inspiring.
Thanks for taking me there ... not just a natural but almost a spiritual journey, it seems. My parents used to drag us hiking when we were kids (we hated it!), and these days, I long for the lonely paths of forests -- they let you clear your lungs, your head, and your heart.
I never get tired of being in the woods.. and I'm surrounded by them!
