Christmas Ornaments for Cat Lovers
66I love purchasing Christmas ornaments and enjoy getting them for the cat lovers that I know will appreciate them. There are just so many cute choices!
Cats, just like dogs, come in all sizes, colors and shapes and have personalities to match.
I grew up in a family that had both cats and dogs and sometimes birds and fish to add to the excitement.
Archie and Willie were the pair that I first remember as a child. They were so amenable to being dressed up in doll clothes and being played with...until they would finally tire of all that attention and run away from us...sometimes still dressed in those doll clothes!
If you have read the hub about my mother's favorite Dionne Quintuplet doll named Annette, you already know that I was not fond of playing with dolls. But I loved playing with our cats!

Persian cats
While Willie may not have been a purebred cat...and then again it is possible that he was...all I remember is that he had soft and long hair much like a Persian.
He was my favorite cat as a young child.
Long will I remember the day that he, along with Archie, escaped our dressing up session and not only did he run away from us but he caused a bit of excitement. Why? He ran up a telephone poll dressed in some of my doll clothes and did not seem to know how to come back down!
After quite some time ( it seemed endless! ) of cajoling and encouraging him to come down, he gradually inched his way very slowly backwards and then from quite a distance literally launched himself into my mother's waiting arms.
All ended well but we were told not to bundle him up in such warm clothes in the middle of the summertime again. Poor guy was probably roasting!

Tabby cats
Archie better fit the description of a tabby cat.
He and Willie were quite the pals.
Not only did they put up with our child's play of dressing them in doll clothes occasionally but they also took turns sleeping with us.
Normally Willie slept with me and Archie would sleep with one of my two younger brothers.
They were sweethearts!

Siamese Cats
Anyone who has a Siamese cat knows of their distinctive voice as they can be quite vocal.
They are also very affectionate and love being stroked.
Our next door neighbors in Wisconsin had a Siamese cat and another little tabby cat as a companion.
Their Siamese cat named Sammy used to lie on the hearth of their fireplace in the Winter and looked so comfortable warming himself next to the flickering fire.

Maine Coon Cat
According to what I have read, the Maine Coon cat is the official cat of the State of Maine.
Did you know that?
Amazing the things one can learn here on Hubpages!
They have long flowing coats and possess gentle personalities.
Apparently they can get quite large, males ranging from twelve to eighteen pounds with the females being smaller.
Do you know anyone who has a Maine Coon cat who would be pleased to find a special Christmas ornament to dress their tree this year?

A very special cat in my life, while not a Himalayan, was Soloman.
My parents had a German Shepherd dog named Sheba and when this particular cat joined our family, his name became Soloman.
While in high school and even college, Soloman was often draped across my books as I studied well into the night.
He also slept draped over my head at night.
Soloman was my very special buddy!

The two cats in our life right now both came to us as strays.
Dusty, our "Top Cat" has his own hub and he considers himself the boss of the house.
Peaches, who also has her own hub lets him think that he is the boss, but she actually has him wrapped around her precious paws.

Christmas Ornaments
Do any of these Christmas ornaments tickle your fancy?
When K9keystrokes commented on my hub about Christmas Ornaments for Dog Lovers, a special request was put in about doing a similar hub for cats. So here it is K9...special just for you!
Avoiding the crowds in the stores this season and finding just that perfect gift online for the cat lovers in your life might be an easier way to shop for the friend of K9keystrokes as well as you, the reader.
You can also treat yourself to one of these cute cat Christmas ornaments and then enjoy it year after year. What do you think? I'll undoubtedly be adding some to my collection for gift giving purposes this year and waiting for the appreciative smiles.
Do you have cats or know some cat lovers?

Hi Peggy, interesting hub! Love the photo of Peaches and friend also.
Great hub!
So many of my friends are cat owners, and they'll definitely like these ornaments as gifts. Since I have three cats too, I wouldn't mind getting them myself!
Thank you for sharing this!
Voted up and useful.
Hi Peggy,
Nothing beats the real thing! As for the trains, well, I hate to say some of them didn't survive the 'giant cat attacks', though one of my cats really learned her lesson when she actually got on the train board and sat her fanny on the tracks! Talk about going nose to nose with technology! She wasn't a petite cat either..more like a cow cat! Definitely loved her food dish!
Anyway, when the train smacked her snoot, she jumped about 10 feet straight up in the air and took off like someone shot her! LOL Moving her bulk that high and fast totally astonished me! I didn't think dead weight could jump! LOL She wasn't hurt, but mostly surprised since the train didn't run away! I wasn't at the controls, so couldn't stop the train since I was getting my dad to catch the 'train vs cat' scene! But kitty sure got over her fright, because a few hours later she was right back, but this time, NOT on the tracks! Cats are certainly not stupid! ROFLOL
ROFLOL! Boy, does this bring back some memories of cats during Christmas! I have mainly had Tabby cats, and all have had a fascination with the Christmas tree. Taking swings at ornaments hanging on the branches, dragging off stuffed elves at the base of the tree, trying to climb the tree and getting snarled in the light cords, etc. Ah, the joys of cat ownership.
I swear, people that sell those trees must plant catnip inside the trunk or someplace to get our cats to go nuts! LOL. Even though I never had a cat knock over our tree, they did manage to leave their mark on it somehow!
And the electric train...horror of horrors! Another cat magnet of the highest order! ROFLOL
The cat ornaments are really neat and will have to check into some of those, but who really needs one if you can have a live cat hanging in the branches during Christmas season? LOL
Thanks for the interesting article and funny vids!!!
Love the black short haired tabby ornament.
Another great hub. A lot of valuable and amazing information on cats. The Christmas cat ornaments are great gifts for cat lovers.
I've got to pass this one along to the wife. :)
Thank you explaining all these various cats. Very ingteresting read.
Peggy my parents have a Persian - 12 years old and he is still one heck of a character and even being a dog person I get really really attached too. What perfect cat Christmas ornaments.
Cats definitely add to one's quality of life! My only advise regarding cats and Christmas trees,is don't use tinsel! We did once and our cats were pooping tinsel for 3 days! Luckily they suffered no lasting ill effects! Great hub Peggy, keep up the fine writing!
I love cats even though i have never owned one. We are doggie people :)
God must love cats! God bless Peggy!
Great suggestions for cat lovers ornaments. My cat would like to be a Christmas decoration himself as he loves to sit under the tree with the gifts and peek our from under the branches.
I found a Christmas spirit here. I never seen about this before. I believe the cat looks beautiful wearing these ornaments. Thank you very much. Have a nice weekend!

I love Persian cats and had a couple for years. The ornaments are so cute! I now have a Burman/Japanese Bobtail cat who absolutely will not listen to "no" and I was forewarned and didn't listen either :) Perhaps like her owner??!

Hi Nicky Page,
Peaches regularly relaxes next to her "friend" on the coffee table. Ha! Thanks for your comment. You must like cats or know others who like them?
